Feb. 16th had followup with Dr. Budde. My bloodwork was great she said. I am no longer anemic! Since I was anemic before the whole thing started we decided it was probably the ulcer at that time and the chemo just made it worse. The magnesium is slowly coming up. As far as Dr. Budde and Dr. Grass are concerned there is no cancer left in my body!
However, because my cancer is triple negative Dr. Budde said they need to keep an eye on me. My next appointment is in May after my mamogram. Wow, 3 whole months - what am I going to do? Ladies have you had your mammogram yet? My advice is don't put it off!
Sad news is that Dr. Budde will be leaving the cancer center March 18th due to politics. I plan on sticking with her though and will follow her to Lebanon.
I will go to the cancer center the end of March for a port flush since it needs flushed every 6 weeks and they want to leave it in a year just in case.
Well, the news was so good Angela and I decided to take off for Iowa and surprise Grandma, Aunts, sisters and inlaws. Also got to see an old teacher-softball coach and visit with a friend I hadn't seen for probably 20 years. It was a good time. I got lots of hugs.
We had great traveling weather and it was great fun. I appreciate Mom coming so much when I was down and out and wanted to surprise her to pay her back a little! mY BURN was peeling and pretty owie when we left but it is surpising how the body heals so quickly. I now only have a little spot left and Go to Dr. Grass Monday, March 7 for a followup after radiation.
As always I appreciate all your prayers. I will probably just update once a month unless something surprising happens. Love and a hug to all. Karen
Remember to rejoice today that God loves you as his own child and wants what is best for you.We are so blessed.
